One of the aims of the RARECARE project was to improve the data quality in rare cancers registration.

Work Package 6 performed a data quality analysis of the RARECARE database and a data quality study on a sample of rare tumours with the objectives of:

• assessing validity, completeness and standardisation of cancer registries data on rare cancers between registries
• defining recommendations for improving data quality of rare cancers

The improvement of the quality of data will consequently improve the comparability of incidence, prevalence and survival of rare cancers among European Populations and across time periods.

The "Report with quality considerations on the available data on rare cancers" summaries the results of the work undertaken by RARECARE to ameliorate the data quality of rare cancers.
